Career Overview

Craig joined Whittle Consulting as a Technical Services Specialist in 2022. With a Science degree from Monash University, Craig’s major areas of study were Geology, Maths and Physics. This study developed Craig’s keen personal interest in the field of Earth Sciences.

Craig worked for a decade in the mining sector. Initially he worked as an Exploration Geologist, and more recently, as a Mine Geologist. Working in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Craig has extensive field and mine site experience.

As a Mine Geologist, Craig worked at a site with 17 active drill rigs, across 24 pits and with 3 different mineralisation styles. This role inspired and honed Craig’s expertise and interest in data interrogation. He is proficient in the management, investigation, exploitation and updating of large models and complex data sets.

Craig is adept at automating and manipulating data reporting and acquisition into a range of modelling programmes. Craig is also expert in creating 3D mine visualisations for use in high-level infographics and project work.

Whilst working in the Pilbara, Craig developed expertise in strategic mine planning. De-risking mine plans, de-bottlenecking plants, creating block models, generating blending strategies, re-designing pits, modifying bench plans and the management of hydro and geotechnical risks, were all part of his role.

Now with Whittle Consulting, Craig draws on this wide-ranging experience. He works with other members of the Technical Services Team on Whittle Enterprise Optimisation projects, supporting our regional managers and business consultants to provide high-level knowledge and solutions for Whittle Consulting clients worldwide.
