Stewart has been a part-owner of Whittle Consulting for 5 years and a director of the company over the past 2 years. He shares the founders’ passion to see Whittle Consulting’s optimisation philosophy applied throughout the global mining industry to generate step changes in the cash flow of mining businesses and wealth for their owners. While his professional background is in engineering, today Stewart is a “money engineer” who is primarily involved in company restructuring and acquisition due diligence in the natural resource industries, plus non-executive directorships.
Stewart has 35 years of experience in the global oil & gas and mining industries in executive management, operations, restructuring and mergers & acquisition roles. As Chief Development Officer of zinc miner Zinifex he led that company’s strategic planning, reinstated its exploration capability and commenced development studies on projects like Dugald River. His career with BP was focused on executive management particularly of downstream processing businesses that applied financial optimisation tools for strategic and operations planning.
